Fanelli’s Amici’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I've never actually had the pizza, so I can neither confirm nor refute the pizza comments from the other posters. This is another family favorite. Old-fashioned Italian American food - no frills. I like the lasagna. Matt goes for the chicken parm. Expect a long wait especially Friday and Saturday at dinner time.

"Our next puzzle, ladies and gentlemen, falls under "Food":" _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "I'd like the solve the puzzle, please." "You want to solve without spinning the wheel or buying any vowels? You have to at least make Vanna do something..." "Yes, I'd like to solve. Besides, Vanna's thin enough already. She should eat at Amici's." "Go ahead." "TASTY RED SAUCE." "You're a winner, chicken dinner!" You too could be a winner by consuming the delicious red sauce they serve up at this place. My family has been eating at Amici's for over 20 years (or more, because I'm not sure when they opened at their old location). If you like rich, well-spiced red sauce on your pasta dishes or on your pizza, you ought to think about stopping in here. The type of Italian food they serve here is not exactly the old-world gourmet Italian you can find at other places in the area (e.g. Patsy's). Here, they do the more American-style pasta, pizza, and red sauce meals you've eaten a million times (but probably weren't nearly as good as they're done here). The menu is incredibly simplistic. Lots of pasta choices and lots of pizza choices. I'll admit that I order the same thing almost every single time: the stuffed peppers with spaghetti. It's AMAZING. The peppers are tender and are stuffed with a meatball/Italian sausage mixture. Served with a side of spaghetti, red sauce, and your choice of soup or salad. TONS of food. I usually make two meals out of it. They recently moved to this location, which used to be the "Gemini." They did a really nice job of redoing the interior. Plus, they decorate OUTRAGEOUSLY for every conceivable holiday on the calendar (including, I believe, holidays like Flag Day). Come on...who doesn't love that?!? If you're in the mood for some simplistic yet delicious Italian food, you should try Fannelli's Amici's. If you do, you won't have to guess at the puzzles anymore 'cause you'll be an insider like me.

Although I commend them for managing to clean the decades of muck that marked the spot where Gemini once stood, we were nonplussed by the predictable and uninspired food, eyeball-wrenching lighting, country cozy cum bistro decor and aloof front-of-house staff. We shared a feast for two that included pasta, ravioli, lasagna and sausage. Portions were generous and we enjoyed the family-style serving option, though our cheese shaker had cooties. Salad was watery but fresh iceberg, woefully overdressed. Though we were impressed that they make their own pasta, we wished the same attention to detail had gone into cooking it, as its menudo-like texture lacked the deliciousness we were led to anticipate. Fortunately, there was nicely prepared sausage to provide adequate lubricant to remove residue from teeth between bites. Eew. The marinara was edible, but bland and forgetable, much like the sauce in the refrigerated pasta section of the grocery store, only without the relative freshness. The garlic bread and the lasagna were highlights of an experience wholly brimming with mediocrity and gastrointestinal distress. Though they're far better than Vicenza's on 44th (in that the food was actually palatable and the wait staff were friendly and competent), there is no fathomable reason to eat here when Parisi and even Pietra's are so much better.

Service was good, pizza was good, they had a special the jumbo was the same price as the large. Overall I enjoyed it

Disgusting. Rude. Terrible Food. Even worse service... MADE SURE AND MENTIONED I DO NOT EAT MEAT. Ordered Spaghetti with ZERO meat. They ON PURPOSE put chunks of ground beef under my noodles. When i confronted our server, she was rude and passed me off onto their moron manager who ALSO was rude, and all she could say is "We aren't a vegetarian restaurant" in a smart ass tone. All i ordered was noodles and sauce and ASKED them to make sure there is no meat. When i asked if they put meat in their normal red sauce, they said NO. So this was a full, intentional "mistake". DO. NOT. GO. HERE!

  • Lilli B.

Really lousy food. Minestrone was a mushy bowl of overcooked veggies with a pile of leftover spaghetti. "Salad" was iceberg lettuce with a pile of cheap cheese and cold pepperoni. Marinara sauce was under seasoned, no salt. Service was mediocre.

So my friend and I stopped here for lunch...we were so disappointed! We had the lunch special, the salad was a complete fail..and the so called spaghetti sauce tasted like canned tomatoe paste yukkk!!! Won't be returning eeewww...

Dining in certainly isn't a "wow" experience, but the food is very good in particular anything with a dough base (pasta, pizza, etc.). We are tempted every Sunday to buy a take-out pizza since they offer the Jumbo at a Large size price. The deluxe pizza is fantastic! The service is usually friendly and fast, especially for take-out.

I have an attachment to this place because its where my husband and i had our first date, and where i was proposed to. But the food isnt that great, i can get similar results with frozen ravioli from king soopers, but the pizza is good and the garlic bread is delicious. Yet, the spaghetti is terrible. Usually sweet wait staff, and with the prices it seems the food quality is nothing to complain about .

I had high hopes when i pulled into the parking lot, but those hopes diminished when we sat down. Service was lacking. Our "salad" of wet lettuce and three pieces of pepperoni was swimming in a lake of oily tasteless "dressing". My gluten-free pasta came crunchy and with a haphazard smeer of thin sauce and tiny half link of sausage. My husband's baked rigatoni came dry and the garlic bread left the delicious to be desired. But the pain didn't stop there, our bill came and despite the fact that the dishes are hugely over priced for the small unappetizing portions, the up charges for the bread basket and meat just sealed the deal for this place. One lunch stand.

Granted. I have a sentimental attachment to both Wheatridge, and all things North Denver Italian because that's where I'm from. Regardless, every time I go back to Denver, I make a point to eat at Amici's at least once. They serve good North Denver Italian food, the way I like it, at an excellent price. This restaurant is a gem, and a bargain. If you want good eats in a down-to-earth setting, look no further. Come hungry because they don't skimp!

  • Nikki B.

So disappointed in this place. Went for lunch and got the meatball sandwich lunch special. My mom got the fettuccine Alfredo. Both came with "salads" but the salad was just a plate of iceberg lettuce with a couple of pepperonis on it. Sad. Then I asked for peppers on my meatball sandwich and was charged extra. It was literally 1 pepper. WTH? The Alfredo was mediocre but the bread was amazing. Really the bread is why it gets 2 stars and not one. And for what it was I thought it was pretty pricy

What can I say about this place? I've been going here with my family for as far back as my memory allows me to go. I remember when it was in a different location (which I preferred), but this one is alright too. The food is really what you come for. The salad they offer with their entrees is amazing. Get their house italian dressing....this is not the salad dressing you get in the store loaded up with so much sugar it's like eating a candy bar. Then get the red sauce. Get it on anything! My favorite is their rigatoni with italian sausage. This is a staple of my childhood, my adolescence, and my ongoing adulthood. The food here is no fuss, so delicious, and affordable.

My family and all my extended family love this place. We have been going since I was a little girl, so about 30 years at least. We LOVE the sandwiches, the spaghetti and the pizza. You can't go wrong.

Been going to this business since I was 9, so 28 years now. They were on 53rd Sheridan then moved onto Wads. Ounce the Westword rated there pizza 10th place but they we're robbed. I did try the best top 2 pizzas and they sucked and there out of business. The spaghetti and the sauce is good always a favorite. The Amicis pizza which has no sauce but whole tomatoes is always a good choice and there's a gluten free pasta too. I could say it's one of the old Northside Italian favs and the owner is still a good looking Italian woman along with her daughters so a must check out.

Didn't have high hopes, and I wasn't disappointed. I knew it was going to be a red sauce joint. As I read the menu, mostly pasta, and more pasta, some chicken, and then some pizza....no veal, no clams...no frills. Just as I thought. The meal comes with a choice of soup, salad, or garlic bread. Skip the salad...I'd gamble on the soup...even if it came out of a can. There weren't even any tomatoes on the salad...isn't it an Italian restaurant? Just extremely chopped up iceberg lettuce with four thin slices of salami and dressing...yawn. Garlic bread was awesome....really awesome!! I was in the mood for meat, so I asked the server which they would choose between the steak and the peppers. One word of advice, don't eat out what you like your Mom to make. The server suggested the stuffed peppers. they actually weren't bad. The only thing I didn't like is, there is sausage in the mix and that's not what I was looking for (see advice above). It was more than enough food and I felt full after eating half of the large pepper and some of my pasta. Sauce was good, nothing too exciting...but good. The end of the meal was really the cherry on top of the meal. When I was a kid, we used to eat Pizza Frites...they actually have it...I was in heaven. The dough was ever so hot and just the right size with the perfect amount of sugar. Those Pizza Frites made my night. Take it or leave it...they do an alright job here. Just don't expect more than you might get at the upper end old school, red sauce joints and you'll have a good meal. Thank you for reading.

This place would be a good one for Restaurant Impossible! It's a mess and the food was horrible. The prices were high and food quality low. Red tasteless sauce and the eggplant parmesan was paper thin deep fried and then a piece of sliced cheese was thrown on top and served. They have to be kidding with this place. Dirty and the Christmas decorations are still up. The prices are way too high and you get soup, salad or garlic bread (not even 2 or the 3) for $14. Drive by forget this place.

Dog food with Italian sauce ,over priced which is only surpassed by the arrogant attitudes of the so called movie star cashier daughters who think that their s..t doesn't stink .save your money very bad Italian food.

I had a very relaxing lunch at Fanelli's Amici's today. My daughter and I split a 14-inch pizza and had 1/3 of it left over. A very good pizza with a crisp crust. Very good service from our friendly waitress. This is middle-America does Italian. Plastic white and black checked table "cloths" (if it is plastic, can you still call it a cloth?). Limited wine selection at a reasonable $15/bottle. Lots of people. The place was packed. This is one of those restaurants where you never worry about being robbed as there were at least 2 guys with 9mm automatics eating lunch the entire time we were there. Eat where the cops eat. Would I go again? Yes, I would. P.S. I agree with Doug. It seats way more than 97.

Amici's was delicious, as always! I had the chicken parm, my boyfriend had TJ's Special (spaghetti with sausage and peppers). The salad is always my favorite part, probably because they put pepperoni on it and their ranch is delicious.

    1. Chicken parm NOT breaded. 2. Small draught beer selection. 3. Homemade spaghetti ok. Eggplant parm ok. Dinner salad ok. 4. Excellent service for a busy Saturday evening. 5. Plenty of room - good for kids and groups.

For a pizza place that my dad likes that's in the burbs and has a three star rating on Yelp, this place isn't too terrible. In fact, if you go in with low expectations, you may be pleasantly surprised! I was expecting greasy gut bomb pizza with thick, chewy crust, but the crust was surprisingly thinner and very crispy on the ends. We shared two pizzas and had five beers between the four of us (three craft), the parents still had some to take home, and dad ordered extra, extra, extra sausage on his and our bill wasn't terrible - a little more than $50. Also, kudos to Amici's for offering a few local craft beer selections (Dry Dock's Apricot Blonde and Hop Abomination). But seriously, ditch the frozen mugs when pouring craft beer. While Coors light tastes better (read: more like water and less like cruddy beer) ultra cold and watered down, IPA doesn't. Shortly before we left, the rain outside really started coming down and our server advised us to move anything that we had on the floor so it wouldn't get wet. Sure enough, the entire space beneath our feet was completely wet within a minute. This was on Monday night (9/9). Considering the flooding week we've had in CO, I'd be surprised if they're open right now.

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years now. Their Italian food is probably one of the best in the state. Always busy, so expect a wait...but, it's definitely worth it. When we are in the north area of town, it's our first choice. I suggest that you order their homemade pasta and cheese ravioli's. Reasonably priced and clean. Courteous and nice atmosphere. We'll continue coming back as long as they are in business!! Don't pass this place up.

I love Fanelli's Amicis. The staff are very friendly and always make us feel welcome. The pasta is homemade delicious, meatballs and sausage always taste fresh, not to mention the pizza. My kiddos are super picky and love the pizza. I give it 5 stars!

We were looking for a nice little Italian restaurant. We drove by and there were a fair amount of cars in the parking lot. So we stopped in. I had the baked rigatoni and my wife had the tortellini. It wasn't the best, but it was good and hearty. And the sausage was excellent. The service was great and the place was very clean. And as we were leaving there was a line to get in. Would definitely go back again when we're in the area.

On Halloween, I was with some friends who get pizza from here all the time. They ordered several pizzas since there were quite a few of us at the house that night. I have to say, this was better than I had expected. The crust was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy but not all burned and totally over cooked. Please the pizza is reasonably priced and a take out order is usually about 20 minutes from the time you place the order to the time it's ready. There were plenty of left overs which were great for lunch the next day. I will definitely be coming back here for the pizza, but I may have to try some of the other stuff on the menu.

There are two types of local Italian restaurants, one is an old school Godfather mafia type feel (Patsy's), and the other is a family style where they feed you a crap ton of carbs and make you take an extra box of carbs home with you, this is the latter. I enjoyed the atmosphere at Amici's, and the people working there seem like they liked working there, so that's a plus. It was a little weird having TVs with sports broadcasting on in an Italian joint, but I can ignore it since it wasn't audible. Mel and I got a half-order of spaghetti with sausage plus a 14" pizza with meat ball (yes, it is two words on the menu), extra cheese and pepperoni to share. The pasta was decent, thickness was good, though it was a little on the tough side, but it could be that it was one-day old, not a huge deal. Their sauce is a mild sauce, not runny which is a definite plus, but I personally prefer more pizazz with my sauce, a little spice and flavor never hurt anyone, just look at Emeril. So to make my sauce better, I put half a thing of butter (from the bread basket) on top and added a little crushed red pepper, and re-tossed the pasta and it tasted a ton better IMHO. Pizza came like right after the pasta showed up, but it's good because it took a few minutes to cool to non-Totino temperatures (you know what I'm talking about). Mel thought that the extra cheese was a little excessive, but I had never been there so I erred on the side of caution since most places jack you on cheese. Overall the pizza was good, the only bad thing that barely registers on my radar is that because they make their own pizza crust, the bread still had quite a bit of yeasty taste to it. And to someone who doesn't drink beer much it can be a little overwhelming. tl;dr - decent food without having to do the don any favors.

Think of a suburban Italian restaurant. What you're picturing is Fanelli's Amici's. I hate to always sound like some city snob, but really, why do all suburban restaurants look the same? Ambiance is definitely not a big factor in my enjoyment of a restaurant, I just find it strange. Anyway, the bread is just some Italian roll from Safeway cut into pieces, but it works, if they bring it. And the salad we had, which was the Large Bowl, was a good size for four people, but it was literally iceberg lettuce, pepperoni, and cheese. Not exactly the world's most exciting combination of ingredients. The dressings were standard and served in portions big enough to dress the salad of a medium sized hamlet. The pizza was actually really good, though. We got the 18 inch Deluxe. It was big enough for the four of us (none of us light eaters), topped well, with good amounts of cheese, and an abundance of red sauce (just ask Tanya's parents' shirts afterwards). The sauce was sweet and delicious, and even sauce-averse Tanya liked it. The toppings all seemed fresh. After a shaky start, I was pleasantly surprised with the main course. That said, don't expect any interesting toppings or crazy pies here - it's pretty standard stuff. Service was a little spotty. Our drink order was totally forgotten the first time it was taken, and our waitress disappeared for a while when we were hoping to get a box for our leftovers. But she was friendly! I would definitely not mind coming back for another pizza, but only if I'm in the area. We have some family that basically lives across the street, and from there, it's definitely worth a trip. But I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here.

We had a pretty decent meal here the other night with a group of friends. Some of them had been going to Amici's for many years, long before they acquired this location, and this may have gotten my expectations up a little. Overall, the food was pretty good. Nothing really shouted at me, but I can't complain much either. The salad with the house dressing was fairly memorable. The actual salad was pretty basic, but the dressing was awesome. The menu is fairly large and had a lot of different choices. They also have a "family style" option which is pretty cool and allows you to sample a few different items at once. Anything you order comes with garlic bread which was also very good. I had the fried shrimp with a side of spaghetti. The spaghetti was on the thick side and the shrimp and red sauce were pretty standard. I tried some of a friend's tortellini, and they were pretty overcooked. The service was good for a party of 12. We felt a little rushed to order and the waitress disappeared a couple times. Overall, I had a good time and left extremely full without crushing my wallet.

Comparable to a lot of what you'd find in NYC's Little Italy, seriously. The salad dressing is like crack. Great CO, neighborhood restaurant. Good food, family owned and operated, local clientele, tacky decorations for every season - if you aren't from around here you just won't get it. There is even some awesome family drama gossip associated with the place. The ladies running the joint have heads and sometimes hair bigger than the restaurant and aren't the friendliest but that just adds to the flavor of the place. When you don't want to cook, don't know where to go, hate chains, and want something easy and satisfying this is a good option.

The 3 star is fair, though it is sad that Dominoes rates a 5. As far as pizza goes Dominoes is a 2 on the best of occasions. Like many of my 3 or less opinions this place suffers from fear of seasoning. The garlic bread has almost no garlic smell let alone taste. The bread itself was delicious, warm, crispy and soft in the middle. My husband got the meatball sub he says it was good. He didn't offer me a bite and only ate 1/2, so I know it wasn't great. My son got the kids cheeseburger. It was better then good. A lot of places skimp on food for kids. His burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. The bun was toasted and it was a healthy sized patty. I had the fettuccine alfredo. First of all, the noodles were linguini not fettuccine. The sauce needed more garlic and more salt. The chicken was served next to the pasta. The waitress said it was chicken parm that gets put on the plate when you add chicken to your dish. My chicken was grilled, covered in melted cheese and then topped with sauce. I have never had grilled chicken parm, it isn't chicken parm unless it's coated in bread crumbs, and um . . . parmesan cheese! and then fried to a crispy golden brown. That being said, I LOVED it, but it is not what I was told I would get. The chicken was flavorful, succulent and perfectly cooked, the noodles were also cooked to perfection. The sauce was the right constancy and color, it had the robust Parmesan flavor, but as I said it lacked the salt and garlic needed to put it over the top. Also, as an aside I could tell it was made with flour as a posed to corn starch. I personally prefer cornstarch as a thickener in almost anything that doesn't require a brown or dark brown roux. Just a texture issue. My other problem is the lack if appetizers, as in they have none. And the dessert selection has sopapillas which is Mexican! They don't offer canolli or tiramisu, as a matter of fact none of the selections were baked. Fried dough tossed in cinnamon and sugar, sopapillas, spumoni ice cream (which reminds me of fruit cake, so I never order it) and vanilla ice cream. In an Italian rich (not $ but resturaunts) they need to step it up. The staff was lovely, they have a patio and the place was clean. They have the potential for 5 stars. It would just take some tweaks and a little garlic!

We hadn't been to Amici's since they moved to their new location. We ordered the veggie baked cannolis and both of us were pleasantly surprised. Fresh, great tasting dough, enough veggies and cheese with a tasty red sauce. Definitely filling. Atmosphere was clean, wait staff was friendly and inviting. Reasonable price. We will definitely be back. Great neighborhood traditional restaurant!

  • Johnny M.

Love the family feel of the place. But, being an Italian kid that grew up with Italian food and restaurants all around, I have to say the food is mediocre to "fresh", and the service was inviting yet a bit generic. The general idea of this place would be a family place for your Soccer Mom's to take their children to for a win. Yet, if you're looking for a pie to knock you out of your knickers, keep looking.

Dip your finger in a jar of Ragu for a more flavorful and satisfying experience. Yikes, plain chicken, a slice of cold cheese, noodles, and flavorless red sauce. Not good at all and not Italian in any way except for the prices.

I don't feel quite right writing a review of Amici's, err Fanelli's Amici's. For one, I have been coming to this place since I was a kid, meaning when it was over off of 50th and Sheridan. They used to have this really good, thick homemade pasta noodles and really good pizza. Towards the end of their tenure on Sheridan, they kinda lost the plot and their quality slipped, and I just stopped going. My mom and I decided to give them another try, and I am glad I did. Their homemade noodles are the thick, kinda doughy ones I remember, and they have the same pasta sauce. In fact, today I was able to place their sauce- it tastes almost exactly like Hunt's canned tomato sauce. To be fair, I kinda like Hunt's Traditional Sauce... please don't judge me. So it might sound like I am trashing them... please know I am not. Amici's has it's place in this world. The food isn't inventive, or amazing, but it scratches an itch. It's homey and cozy, and fulfills those intangible needs you get from a home style restaurant. So, while I can't give them a glowing review, they can know they have a customer back.

Amicis is good if your looking for italian that is budget conscious. The red sauce is not the best and the salads have mozzarella cheese drowned in Italian dressing. Pizza is pretty good, although on the day we went the crust was slightly over done, but the topping were good quality.

Absolutely my favorite Italian food ever. They are usually very busy, so expect a wait. LOVE their homemade pasta and cheese ravioli's. I love eating at this place when I'm in the north area of town. Been going here for years.

This review is only based on one visit, and it will probably remain that way. The iceberg lettuce salad was disappointing. The fettuccine alfredo was SO bland, the garic toast included was the only flavorful part of the meal. I didn't try any of the sausage or other meats, but I guess the meat may be the reason to eat here. If you are on a field trip from a retirement community or in elementary school you will love this place because the food is so plain.

I love this place. Growing up in Denver and also being Italian, I LOVE traditional home made Italian food. We always went to the location on Sheridan, but after this location opened, we started coming here all the time. Whenever I am home in Colorado, I always come here at least once with friends and family. The pizza and pasta is AWESOME as is the salad and cannoli's. Everyone must come here at least once to check it out!

An Italian restaurant in Wheat Ridge is supposed to be really good, sell a few packaged food items, and be owned by people who go to bed by nine. Amici's is owned by people who go to bed at nine, as it closes at 8:30 weeknights. But unfortunately, that's the only thing it has in common with the many great Italian restaurants and delis in Wheat Ridge. Amici's interior is cozy, with good service, and its walled patio reminds you of the walls to a Forbidden City. The clientèle and feel of the place just screams, "grand children are frequently brought here." I had a (savory) "stuffed cannoli" with green peppers, onions, cheese, and button mushrooms. In case you're wondering, Amici's stuffed cannoli is basically sourdough pizza dough wrapped around savory fillings and cheese, baked, and served with tomato sauce. The rest of the world call that a calzone or stromboli; Amici's calls it a cannoli. The filling ingredients were acceptable, if uninspired. The onions and mushrooms in particular would have been better grilled and the tomato sauce was of water-like consistency with absolutely no chunks or spices added. Dinner was served with white bread and a salad made from iceberg lettuce, slices of pepperoni, and shredded cheese imported from... the nearby Safeway, I believe. My girlfriend had the chicken parm (which happens not to be fried) and was most definitely better than my choice of entrée. Although then again, a generic national chain would have been an even better choice than Amici's, so there you have it.

This is the new location of the Amici's that was on 53rd and Sheridan. They just recently opened and already the lines have formed and the parking lot is consistently full. I feared that like most restaurants that move into bigger spaces, nothing would be as good as it was in the smaller older location. Well that's not the case here. The capacity sign over the door said capacity 97 but it seemed like there was a lot more seating than that. The interior of the former "Gemini Restaurant" has received a major face lift and although this location isn't as homey as Amici's old Sheridan location, it is open and nice. The wait on the waiting list wasn't as long as the old location to start with, service throughout was excellent, and as far as I can tell the menu and food were still the same. I had told someone about their cannoli/calzone so I went with that to refresh my memory. Also the dinner salad that even though it's just iceberg lettuce, shredded mozz, and pepperoni, that addictive, sour but tasty Italian dressing is still the same. We also had the stuffed shells that were on special and the eggplant parmesan and a 1/2 order of toasted garlic bread. The pic doesn't do the calzone justice. Stuffed with two giant meatballs and two sausages, chile strips, fresh mushroom slices and mozzarella, it's about the same amount of food as a large pizza. About 2/5 of it was all I could manage. The stuffed shells and eggplant parmesan got the thumbs up from the fam too. This is american italian food and not a trendy "just like I had when I was in Sicily or Naples or wherever" kind of place so if that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. A well seasoned, slightly sweet red gravy or decent marinara on a homemade pasta kind of place, capiche? They also now take credit cards!

I've eaten at Amici's at least four times over the past couple of years. I knew when I walked in what to expect: family red sauce joint. Every neighborhood should have one and bordering Northwest Denver, Amici's fits right in with the old character of the neighborhood. The food has always been overpriced but decent and the service fairly friendly. Until tonight. You can't treat your customers poorly no matter how busy you are. There are just too many other great restaurants in Denver. I can deal with poorly prepared food. I can handle a bad night in quality. I can't stomach bad service and my business is gone forever when the staff doesn't seem to care. Upon entering tonight, there was one person working the phone, playing cashier and serving as hostess. I know its a family joint but come on, hire some help especially if you get as crowded at this place can be on a Friday night. The one front person said: "Take a seat, we'll be right with you." No names, no list, no nothing. In the next five minutes as least four more parties entered the restaurant who proceeded to crowd in front of my son and I. A wait person finally came out and says "who's next?" The hostess looks around and says "I think they were" pointing to another party and then she continues: "um, uh". So I step forward and say "we were next". Waitress seats party number one then returns and walks up to another couple, whispers to them and takes them back. No glance at us. No acknowledgment. So I decided we'd go somewhere else. When I went up to the hostess to tell her that we were leaving since they didn't seem to want to seat us she said "Oh we were looking for you". When I pointed out that her wait person just decided to seat someone else in front of us and that I would take my business elsewhere, her reply was "Ok." Skip the hassle, the overpriced, oversauced food and the poor service. Go to Patsy's for family Italian, Parisi's for great craft Italian and Gaetano's for the heritage.

I ordered a pizza to go on Sat. night at 5pm which is when Amici's starts to get really busy It was ready when I got there, however I felt like they were so busy seating people that they were not friendly and thankful for the business. I got home and the pizza was so dry. I dont like a lot of sauce, but there was only enough to make it look red, could not taste any sauce, it was totally bread and cheese, with meat. Could have returned it, but will just not visit there again.

One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Great Italian food, super quick and friendly service. I eat here at least once a week. Try the home made noodles with a sausage and a meatball, their pizza as well. I have never had anything on the menu that was bad. And by the way: Their house dressing is some of the best around!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
